Day 5: First cheat

Today I craved junk food. I passed up the yummy muffins at my morning meeting along with the Dove chocolate I earned...but I did give in this evening. Whoops.

Breakfast: Multi-grain Cheerios with Skim milk
Snack: Hard Boiled Egg Lunch: Minestrone Soup with Macaroni and baked chips
Snack: Apple
Dinner: 5 Veggie "meatballs" (Only 135 calories!) and Fruit loops (yes, fruit loops) with skim milk
Cheat: 2 mini Mr Goodbars

In the end I'm about 50 calories over for my food budget today. Better go for a quick walk.

For our cheat day, can we eat all 1200 calories in chocolate?

Day Five

Well, it is the end of the day and after entering all my food in the database, I have 400 calories left. That could explain why I am so grumpy!

Breakfast: egg whites, mushroom and turkey sausage scramble
Lunch: Chicken salad
Dinner: Tomato Soup
Snacks: rice crackers and laughing cow light cheese

Didn't manage to get in exercise today but plan to tomorrow.
I drank more water today so hurrah for me.

Day Four

Breakfast: Better Oats, RAW
Lunch: Ground Turkey buritto
Dinner: Chicken salad
Snack: Apple and tea latte

Stacey and I got in a walk today. Ollie and Soren must be gaining weight because I was winded pushing those two up the hills.
Bought a few new snacks and some Vitamin Water Zeros to help me get more fluid.
Feeling pretty good- I didn't eat an oreo (bought for the kids) though I was super tempted and managed to stay under my calorie count for the day.

Day Three

Breakfast: Two sausage links and two eggs
Lunch: Turkey, hummus, veggie wrap
Dinner: Ground turkey, bean, little cheese, veggies
Snack: apple and small handful of yogurt covered raisins (kinda a cheat but if I wasn't dieting, I would have eaten the chocolate ones!)

At night I am getting hungry probably due to the fact that I am up late. Still not drinking enough water. Didn't get exercise in today.  So a so-so day. I managed to hit my calorie goal for the day without going over- so that is one thing to be happy about.

Day Two

Breakfast
Two eggs and two turkey sausage links (they were pretty good)

Lunch
Leftover Chicken Chili
1/8 of Ollie's cheese tortilla

Dinner
Leftover Chicken Chili
A few of Soren's Sweet potato tots
A few bites of Ollie's whole wheat pancakes with jam and yogurt

Snack- Apple

Still off Diet Coke but I am not getting enough water as I am parched! I am having a hard time not taking bites of my children's food. At least it is just a bite or two and not a whole plate full.

Went on walk with Stacey pushing Ollie and Soren up a few big hills. I need to so more cardio and I would like to do yoga at night.

I also invited you all to "my fitness pal" where I am tracking calories and exercise. See you over there.

Doing OK

I need to go to sleep earlier before I get really hungry. Sleep evaded me for way too long last night because my tummy was NOT happy. I think it's a combo of less food and taking the pill on a nearly empty stomach.

Today I'm back to the gym for another hour workout. I'm shooting for 1/2 hour cardio (will up this soon) and 1/2 hour weights. I'm still a little sore from Monday's workout because I'm so out of shape.

This morning I had 1/2 of a Subway sandwich for breakfast (breakfast of champions!). Lunch was ground turkey taco salad and greek yogurt with raspberries.

I have a bag of chocolate by my bed (the good stuff); leftovers from a work study group last week. It takes a lot of willpower to say no, but I haven't cheated yet. Can't wait for Sunday :)

Day Three

I am embarrassingly sore in my right arm from dodge ball.  Pathetic.  Heather and I walked for about 45 minutes yesterday morning but I need to get in some running this week.  When?

Turkey taco salad for dinner last night with corn on the cob - really tasty and filling.

I am still not drinking enough water.

Breakfast today was oatmeal and strawberries and snack this morning was another bowl of strawberries (only because I forgot to give them to Calvin).

We watched part of Biggest Loser last night and I wish I could lose 17 pounds in one week!  Wouldn't that be awesome?

Day one and a recipe

I saw this today and thought it might be a good way to encourage  myself to drink more water.  Yesterday went well - no cheating.  Greek Yogurt and strawberries fro breakfast, a protein bar and a smoothie for lunch, turkey jerky, crackers and an apple in the car and diet coke.  I think that was all?

2 l water add 1 medium cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced, 1 lemon, thinly sliced, 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger and around 10 spearmint leaves.
leave in the fridge for a few hours or overnight and in the morning you'll have a cold and really refreshing drink.

First Day

Well, it wasn't cheat free but I feel good about it nonetheless.

Breakfast: Two eggs on toast -no butter, V8

Lunch: Turkey and swiss wrap with mustard, lettuce and tomatoes and a small glass of watered down limeaid.

Snack: Fresh apple

Dinner: Chicken Chili

Tea

My cheat: Two M&Ms, one gum drop.

I stayed away from the diet coke. I am hoping to eliminate it from my diet. Instead I drank Crystal Light Pure made with stevia.

Didn't get in any aerobic activity other than chasing Ollie but I am going to the library to get some DVDs to do while it rains.

Starting Line

And we're off on a challenge to lose 15 pounds and get fit and healthy along the way.

It is Monday, October 3rd and here are our start weights:

Stacey 162.4
Heather 167.6
Kirstin 164.3

It is kind of sad that we all weigh about the same right now, but Kirstin has several inches on me.  Crap.

We are going to post weighs every Monday, exercise updates, recipes and encouragement for eating healthy and losing weight.

Rules: No diet pills or fad diets.  No sweets except on Sundays.  Must get some sort of physical exercise at least three times per week.

Good Luck!!

PS - there will be an awesome prize for whoever hits the 15 pound mark first.  We were thinking maybe a $100.00 gift card to REI?
